The 2018 NFL Draft and the opening of NFL free agency will provide the Seattle Seahawks the opportunities to further bolster their roster. They're expected to focus on the tight end, cornerback, offensive guard, defensive end, and safety.

-Tight End: Jimmy Graham is considered really unlikely to be back. Luke Willson is a UFA, leaving the young and unproven duo of Nick Vannett and Tyrone Swoopes as the only tight ends on the roster. That makes the tight end position arguably the #1 need heading into free agency.
- Offensive Guard: Duane Brown and Justin Britt are locked in as those steady vets at LT and center. Ethan Pocic will get a shot at RG, with Germain Ifedi potentially back at RT. Jordan Roos and George Fant all signed for two more years as backups. However, there is a hole at the 5th starting spot at left guard and that's where Seattle is most likely to try to upgrade.
-Cornerback: Richard Sherman is coming off a likely career-altering injury in 2017, and he would be very expensive to bring back. Shaquill Griffin, the team’s third-round pick, earned the starting cornerback nod opposite of Richard Sherman earlier this season. He does have the ability but is still just entering his sophomore season. The Seahawks have Byron Maxwell as a FA, and Justin Coleman is a RFA who did play well last season, but Seattle needs to keep their options open.
-Defensive End: Marcus Smith is a FA, Dion Jordan is a RFA, and Cliff Avril is on IR, with questions around him and his hefty contract - his career seems likely over. That'll have to come through the draft unless there's cap relief in the form of retirements, trades or cuts.
-Safety: Top backup is Bradley McDougald had a decent season last year, Seahawks fans should expect to see him in 2018. If the Seahawks move on from Kam Chancellor, either by retirement or release (Chancellor has already come out saying he will try and play), the Seahawks could open up a spot that DeShawn Shead has helped fill previously.
