This post was originally titled, “The Giants’ 15-20 start is really funny,” but I’m not above a grabbier headline and, well, it’s factually correct that the San Francisco Giants haven’t started a season 15-20 since 2019, Farhan Zaidi’s first year as President of Baseball Operations. But it’s still funny that the Giants have started this season 15-20.
These are the five worst starts to a season in the Oracle Park era:
- 12-23 (2017)
- 14-21 (2008)
- 15-20 (2004)
- 15-20 (2019)
- 15-20 (2024)
That 2004 Giants team would tumble all the way down to 15-23 and then went 76-48 the rest of the way.
