IN THE VIDEO ABOVE & BELOW, Jimmy Garoppolo’s 297 passing yards and 3 touchdowns vs. the Bengals led the 49ers to one of their best offensive performances under Kyle Shanahan. Garoppolo took a big step forward from his week 1 performance against the Bucs, however, he wasn’t perfect. Tom walks through the William Jackson interception and identifies the misread in coverage.
Say it with me: play action is the 49ers best friend. George Kittle was able to make some really good plays on Sunday, establishing himself as one of the best run-blocking and pass-catching TE in the NFL. Kittle’s speed and physicality allow the offense to chunk plays when they’re needed. Jimmy G is also 10 for 10 on play action plays with 2 TDs and no interceptions. I’ll say it again, play action just works!
