Carson Wentz’s turnover in the end zone and the Eagles defense's overall inability to stop Jared Goff and the Rams’ offense doomed the Eagles from the start. Eagles rumors are starting to grow regarding the potential benching of Carson Wentz for rookie second-rounder Jalen Hurts. Wentz struggled again against the Rams, and while Hurts only played 3 snaps in Week 2 as a decoy, some are wondering whether it’s time to see what the rookie out of Oklahoma can do.
The Eagles’ defense has now had 6 straight quarters of bad football, as the Rams went up and down the field all afternoon long. Jared Goff started the day 13-13 and carved up the Eagles throughout the game, while Philadelphia’s front four only managed one sack in the game.
Issac Seumalo and Darius Slay both went down with injuries. However, Eagles news seems to be good on the injury front after the Week 2 loss to the Rams.
