What We Learned From Oklahoma's 66-59 Win Over Texas Tech

The Oklahoma Sooners stayed undefeated in the Big 12 on Saturday night, winning a wild 66-59 shootout over Texas Tech. The teams combined to set a record for total yards in a game, quarterback Baker Mayfield set an Oklahoma record with seven passing touchdowns, and running back Joe Mixon had five total touchdowns himself. For the Sooners, they'll take the win however they can. Here are three things we learned from the game:

3) Where's the defense?
We know Texas Tech has a very explosive offense, but really? The Sooners gave up 854 yards of total offense to the Red Raiders, including a NCAA-record 734 passing yards from Patrick Mahomes. Oklahoma has now given up at least 40 points in four of their last five games. If that continues, they're bound to suffer another loss or two.

2) Mayfield to Westbrook is LETHAL
It's the fourth straight week Dede Westbrook has put up huge numbers, even though he was largely lost in the shuffle in this game. He caught nine passes for 202 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing the speed and route running ability that has turned him into one of the best receivers in the country. He now has 776 yards and 10 touchdowns - in the last FOUR games!

1) Joe Mixon's is this team's lead back
With Samaje Perine out, Mixon stepped in and put his full array of skills on display, running for 263 yards and two touchdowns on 31 carries while catching four passes for 114 yards and three touchdowns. The two have been splitting carries and will continue to do so throughout the season, but after this performance, Mixon will likely get the majority of those attempts.
