4 Reasons Why The Ohio State Buckeyes Are Guaranteed To Repeat As National Champs

Ohio State football will always have the honor of calling themselves the first-ever College Football Playoff champions, yet we're also convinced that they have a VERY good shot at becoming the first-ever TWO-TIME College Football Playoff winners. Here are four reasons why the Buckeyes are a LOCK to repeat this season:

1) A Dynamic Offense Any Way You Slice It

The news that Braxton Miller is moving to H-Back/punt returner for the 2015 season is probably the best thing that could've happened to an already lethal Buckeyes offensive attack. Whether it's Cardale Jones' raw athleticism or JT Barrett's coolness under pressure leading the charge, there are way too many weapons on this offense to be held down at any time in 2015. Ezekiel Elliott. Michael Thomas. Corey Smith. Jalin Marshall. That reads more like an All-American team than a roster for just one program.

2) Did we mention Ezekiel Elliott?

Elliott is currently the consensus Vegas favorite to win the 2015 Heisman Trophy, coming in at 6/1 odds over competitors such as LSU RB Leonard Fournette (15/2) and TCU QB Trevone Boykin (8/1). With all the attention being paid to the QB situation, it's easy to forget just how essential Elliott is to the team's offensive gameplan going forward. All the pieces are in place for him to run roughshod over the Big Ten. If he can do that, some VERY impressive hardware could be in his future.

3) Dominant Defense

Let's take you back to the 2014 Big Ten Championship Game against a potent Wisconsin attack led by all-world rusher Melvin Gordon. All Ohio State's defense ended up doing was SHUTTING OUT the Badgers, holding Gordon to under three yards per carry and generally keeping out of the second level all night long. With plenty of returning talent (i.e Joey (bleep)-ing Bosa) coming back with another year of experience and camps under their belt, that Wisconsin massacre could very well be the rule and not the exception in 2015.

4) Urban Meyer's Steady Hand

Let Jim Harbaugh have the headlines over there in Ann Arbor. There is no more calculated manager of talent and egos in college football than Urban Meyer. Meyer gets his players' respect by allowing them to function as individuals on their own time, while commanding respect and solidarity when it comes to the locker room and the field. His track record speaks for itself. He's easily worth a couple victories on his own just by standing on the sidelines in Columbus. Easily.
