3 Reasons Why Ohio State Is Guaranteed To Beat Michigan This Weekend

Ohio State Buckeyes put themselves back in the thick of the College Football Playoff race, but that doesn't matter this weekend. Ohio State is traveling to take on That Team Up North, and all that matters to the Buckeyes is getting a victory - re-affirming themselves as the better team in this rivalry. We expect to happen. Here are three reasons why Ohio State is guaranteed to beat Michigan:

1) Michigan's terrible offense
Their struggles on offense are the biggest reason why Michigan has struggled this season. They rank among the bottom 20 teams in the entire country in passing yards, total yards, first downs, third-down conversion percentage, and red zone conversion percentage. And, in their only two games against teams who are currently ranked, they've scored 13 and 10 points in those games, respectively. This group does not perform well against good teams and there's no reason to think that won't continue.

2) Ohio State's offensive improvement
Aside from the second half against Oklahoma and a turnover-filled game against Iowa, Ohio State's offense has been lights out, ranking in the top four in the country in both yards per game and points per game. J.T. Barrett has improved as a downfield passer as the receivers have found their stride, and the result is the Buckeyes scoring at least 48 points in six of their last eight games. This group will continue their hot streak on Saturday.

3) Urban Meyer vs. Jim Harbaugh
Harbaugh has never beaten Ohio State and only has one win over a rival while at Michigan. On the flip side, Urban Meyer hasn't lost to the Wolverines since he took over the Buckeyes. As such, there's no reason to think that five-game winning streak won't continue.
