3 Burning Questions For UNC Basketball Heading Into The 2015-16 Season

The North Carolina Tar Heels are on the verge of a championship breakout, but there are still some things that need to be addressed before UNC sets it sights on NCAA Tourney glory. Here's our list of 3 Burning Questions For UNC Basketball Heading Into The 2015-16 Season.

1. Is It Time To Give Roy Williams An Extension?

There was a split amongst UNC fans when it was announced a couple days ago that the team was in the midst of finalizing a contract extension with Willians, especially considering the wave of allegations surfacing regarding the program's long-running academic scandal. There's no doubt that Williams is a major, legendary asset both in recruiting and on-court Xs and Os. But, is this really the time to invest in him with the clouds surrounding the team? We'll have to wait and see.

2. Can Marcus Paige Take Another Leap?

Paige led UNC with a 39.5% mark from three-point territory last season, and his 94 made triples was more than any other UNC player even attempted. Marcus is an effective volume shooter that can both create his own shots or do damage on the spot-up. That versatility as a shooter could lift him from the edge of the top tier of college basketball players to the top of the heap as an elite offensive threat.

3. Is Brice Johnson Ready To Carry The Load?

Johnson is an elite inside scorer who can do damage both on the break and posting up opposing bigs in the restricted area. While he averaged just 12.9 points per game in 2014-15, he eclipsed the 18-point mark 11 times. However, there were plenty of games where he disappeared on the offensive end, leaving UNC's shooters to do most of the work. The Tar Heels really need Johnson to provide consistency in the paint in 2015-16, otherwise they'll have a huge gap to fill when it comes to inside buckets.
