2019 NFL Free Agency: Winners & Losers Feat. Raiders, Browns, Packers, Titans, Cowboys & Bengals

The new league year has officially begun & 2019 NFL Free Agency has been nothing short of chaotic as most of the top-notch free agents are no longer on the market. NFL Daily Hosts Tom Downey & Mitchell Renz are here to break down the winners and losers through the first official day of 2019 NFL Free Agency.

The obvious winners are the off-ball linebackers and the safeties who hit the market this offseason. C.J. Mosley & Kwon Alexander got ridiculous deals and Anthony Barr got paid as well. After a dead market for safeties in 2018, Landon Collins, Earl Thomas, & Tyrann Mathieu signed huge contracts, setting the tone of the market for safeties. The Oakland Raiders made a lot of noise trading for Antonio Brown, but the Cleveland Browns broke the internet trading for O’dell Beckham Jr. The Tennessee Titans, Buffalo Bills & Green Bay Packers were active shoppers in free agency, inking a lot of new deals early on.

The obvious losers include Le’Veon Bell, who sat out all of 2018 in search of a record-breaking contract, but had a limited market in free agency. He turned down a 5 yr, $70MM deal from the Steelers to end up with a 4 yr, $52.5MM deal with the Jets. The Indianapolis Colts have the most cap space in the NFL, but didn’t make any big moves. The Dallas Cowboys were not only quiet, but lost Cole Beasley & Damien Wilson to new teams before losing out on the Earl Thomas sweepstakes. The New York Giants lost its best players on both sides of the ball in Landon Collins and O’dell Beckham Jr., so they might be the biggest free agency losers.
