Knicks Rumors: New York Hoping To Acquire Another Wing Player Before The Trade Deadline

The New York Knicks are only three games out of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, and they're hoping to acquire another wing player at the trade deadline to help their playoff push in the second half of the season, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

There are far more teams chasing wing players — shooting guards/small forwards — than quality talent available at those positions. Drafts have been lean on those spots in recent years, and they’re in great demand now.

Detroit, New Orleans, New York and Portland are a few of the teams most interested in upgrades, but the true list is much longer.

New York is known to be interested in acquiring Kemba Walker from the Charlotte Hornets, who are expected to field offers for their All-Star point guard.

Other players who are available are Lakers guard Jordan Clarkson and Magic wing players Evan Fournier and Mario Hezonja. Both teams are actively shopping those players.

The Knicks already signed Tim Hardaway Jr. to be their long-term answer at either the two or the three with No. 7 overall pick Frank Ntilinkina expected to be the team's long-term point guard (unless they trade for Walker), meaning they're hoping to find someone to pair with those two young players.
