The New York Knicks have wavered on whether or not to exercise Shane Larkin's $1,675,320 option for the 2015-16 NBA season.

According to Marc Berman of the New York Post, president Phil Jackson and the team's front office will take a pass with Friday's contract extension deadline looming:

Declining Larkin's option will save the Knicks approximately $1.15 million in cap room next season. While that is not an exorbitant amount of space by any means, the Knicks are attempting to remain as financially flexible as possible to make a run at one or two top-tier free agents next summer.

However, if Larkin sets the world on fire at MSG this season, don't be surprised if the Knicks re-sign him at a markup.
