The Michigan Wolverines already have a full coaching staff, but that hasn't stopped head coach Jim Harbaugh from adding coaches he believes can help improve Michigan's offense.
According to multiple reports, Michigan is set to hire former Ohio State offensive coordinator and Minnesota offensive line coach Ed Warinner as an offensive analyst (first reported by FootballScoop.com).

Warinner served as Ohio State's offensive coordinator from 2012-2016 before being replaced by Kevin Wilson, receiving most of the blame for the lack of downfield passing in the Buckeyes' offense in the 2016 and quarterback J.T. Barrett's lack of growth in that area. However, he also led Ohio State's offense during their 2014 national title run that included three different players serving as the team's starting quarterback.
Michigan will be hoping he will help provide a spark to an offensive unit that desperately needs it.
The Wolverines planned to make several changes to their offensive coaching staff this offseason following a year in which they really struggled on that side of the ball. Michigan ranked 105th in the country in total offense (349 yards per game) and 91st in points per game (25.2).

Quarterback Brandon Peters struggled last season, completing just 52.8 percent of his passes for 672 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions in five starts. He is expected to be replaced by Ole Miss transfer Shea Patterson next season.
Michigan would also like to simplify their offense at the start of next season as many around the program believe it was overwhelming for many of their young players.
Warinner is expected to make roughly $150K (what defensive analyst Kevin Lempa made last season) should he accept the position.
