BREAKING: 2016 4-Star DE Ron Johnson Jr. Commits To Michigan Football

The first true recruiting class of the Jim Harbaugh era of Michigan football is getting more impressive by the day, with the commitment of coveted four-star Camden (NJ) defensive end Ron Johnson on Thursday marking Harbaugh's latest big-time get for the Class of 2016.

This is Michigan football's 14th commitment for the month of June and the 21st overall commitment for the Class of 2016 -- a class which is currently ranked in the top ten by all major recruiting analysis services.

Michigan was viewed as a strong favorite for Johnson after his first visit to Ann Arbor in April. Both Harbaugh and UM defensive standout Jabrill Peppers are from Jersey as well -- a factor that may have contributed to Johnson's decision in some respect.

His second visit to campus sealed the deal, ending a recruitment process that includes offers from Penn State, Oregon, Ohio State, Alabama and Michigan State among others.

With Johnson in tow, the focus now shifts to his Camden teammate, four-star wide receiver Brad Hawkins. Hawkins is slated to make his decision on July 26th, less than a week after a scheduled unofficial visit to Ann Arbor.
