DENVER – Jeff Bzdelik, who will return as Rockets associate head coach this month, took his first step back on the court on Tuesday by joining the Rockets’ shootaround, visiting with players from last season and even offering instructions to young players.
“I miss Jeff,” Rockets forward P.J. Tucker said after sitting with Bzdelik long after the morning walkthrough. “He was one of the voices on our team we kind of missed. I just loving having him around because his attitude toward our team and our defense is probably the reason we were so good last year.”
The Rockets’ defense has made clear strides.
