Rockets veterans rally behind young teammates

Through the Rockets' second four-game losing streak of the season, veteran players have rallied behind their young contributors, looking to motivate them through a period of struggle.

“Staying behind them, having their back. Even when they make mistakes, just grow from it, just learn, it’s a process,” forward P.J. Tucker said of his approach to the Rockets young players. “Throughout the season there’s going to be ups and downs, just keep playing and it’ll all work itself out.”

Technically, Houston has one of the NBA’s oldest rosters.

But when taking a closer look at the team’s top nine contributors (in terms of average minutes played), three of their offseason departures (Ryan Anderson, Trevor Ariza, and Luc Mbah a Moute) are all over age 30.
