The Green Bay Packers ended their win over the Miami Dolphins without both of their starting cornerbacks. However, both Sam Shields and Tramon Williams skirted major injuries and could be back on the field as soon as next Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.

Per Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com, "coach Mike McCarthy said Monday that neither the fluky looking knee injury that Shields sustained while trying to line up for a play in the third quarter nor the ankle injury that knocked out Williams two plays later turned out to be anything major."

Regardless, McCarthy is mixing caution in with his optimism.

"None of them were long term," McCarthy said. "But how fast [they recover] is still to be determined."

Shields indicated after the game that team physician Dr. Pat McKenzie said nothing was torn. Tests on Monday confirmed that diagnosis.

A full update hasn't been given on Williams yet, but all signs point to a speedy recovery at this time.
