It wasn't the blowout most neutrals expected, but the Packers defense shut down the Bucs to ensure a comfortable win for Green Bay.
Turning Point:
Despite a massive advantage in offensive yardage and time of possession, the Packers didn't really seal the deal until Jordy Nelson's touchdown catch with 2:45 remaining in the fourth quarter. The TD gave Green Bay a 20-3 lead, and Tampa's offense was unable to respond.
Packers MVP:
Aaron Rodgers was excellent once again, completing 31/40 passes for 318 yards and a TD. Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson both picked up over 100 receiving yards, and RB Eddie Lacy pitched in with another solid game himself (17 carries for 99 yards and a TD). Clay Matthews deserves plenty of recognition as well, racking up 2.5 sacks on the day as the Packers brought down Josh McCown seven times in total.
Stat of the Day:
The Packers absolutely dominated the time of possession, holding the ball for 38:38 to Tampa's 21:22.
Changes Coming?
With nothing left to play for, it's curious to see Tampa starting journeyman Josh McCown over 'QB of the Future' Mike Glennon...the Bucs will have a tough decision to make if Oregon's Marcus Mariota is available when they make their first-round draft selection in May.
What's Next?
The 11-4 Packers have clinched the playoffs, and can win their division with a win over the Lions next weekend, and they'll head in with plenty of momentum. Meanwhile, the 2-13 Bucs will have nothing but pride to play for against New Orleans next Sunday.
