The two time Pro Bowl cornerback for the Green Bay Packers Al Harris will soon have his very own ceremonial retirement. Harris mentioned that the better parts of the years of his career were with Green Bay and hence it just makes sense that he “retires as a Packer.” He mentioned too that he was able to enjoy his playing experience with other teams like that of Philadelphia and Tampa but it was with Green Bay that he found his own place in the world of football.
Harris now serves as an assistant coach for the Kansas City Chiefs. He has spent a total of 14 seasons for the NFL right after he entered as a 6th round pick by the Tampa Bay. His first season was on the practice squad with the succeeding five years for the Philadelphia Eagles and then eventually he was traded to the Packers. Since he arrived in 2003, he easily turned out to be a favorite of many fans for his unique style of physical play.
His last game in Green Bay was last November 22, 2009 which led to a terrible injury of having his ligament torn right on his left knee. It was then against the San Francisco 49ers.
Harris has expressed his happiness with the new journey in is life that he is about to get on. And whatever is the result of his playing career, there’s only one message that the Green Bay Packers retiree has to say: “no regrets at all.”
