The Zags have lost to some great teams that were loaded with NBA talent.
- 2015 featured a loss against a Duke squad that went on to win the National Championship, and had three players drafted in the first round of the 2015 NBA draft.
- In 2013 (Wichita St) and 2012 (Ohio State), Gonzaga fell early to teams that made it to the Final Four. The Zags also lost to another Final Four team in the 2001 MSU Spartans.
