Warriors Weekly: Injuries Mounting As Golden State Loses Grip On Top Seed

The Golden State Warriors have been struggling of late, losing two games in a row to drop two games behind the Houston Rockets for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference. However, the bigger concern surrounding the Warriors is the injuries that are mounting, particularly ones to their star backcourt of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. Here's an update on everything you may have missed and everything you need to know inside our Warriors Weekly update:

Last Week:
Golden State actually started the week on a great note, picking up a 110-107 win over the San Antonio Spurs despite Curry rolling his ankle early in the first quarter. The Warriors outscored the Spurs 32-20 in the fourth quarter thanks to 37 points from Kevin Durant.

Things hit a bigger snag against the red-hot Portland Trail Blazers on Friday as Golden State fell 125-108 in the second game of a back-to-back despite 40 points from Kevin Durant. Defense was a major problem for the Warriors as they allowed Portland to shoot just under 50 percent from the field and gave up a combined 58 points to Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum.

Then came Sunday's 109-103 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, marking just the second time the Warriors have lost back-to-back games this season. Durant had another big game with 39 points and 12 rebounds but it wasn't enough to carry the rest of the team.

Stephen Curry will miss at least another week with an ankle injury.
Klay Thompson is expected to miss "extended time" with a fractured thumb.
Draymond Green is also out with a shoulder injury.
David West is out with an arm injury.
