Ezekiel Elliott Back To Cabo, Amari Cooper Injury, DeMarcus Lawrence Return: Cowboys News

Cowboys News is breaking today, as Jaylon Smith has agreed to a contract extension with the Dallas Cowboys, before Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott and Amari Cooper! The contracts details are not known, for now, but we know where Ezekiel Elliott is: Cabo.

In Cowboys Rumors, Demarcus Lawrence and Tyrone Crawford are set to be activated off the PUP list after entering Cowboys camp injured. Lawrence, the All-Pro defensive end, was rehabbing from shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum from the 2018 season. Certainly the Dallas Cowboys are happy to see Tank return before week 1 of the regular season after signing him to a five-year, $105 million contract extension in April. Tyrone Crawford is also on track to return after undergoing off-season hip surgery. Crawford and Lawrence will go through individual drills as a first step and are expected to be fully healthy when the Cowboys host the New York Giants in the season opener.

Ezekiel Elliott is one player who we might not see suit up come week 1. Elliott has been absent the entire training camp, electing instead to train in Cabo while in a contract holdout with the Cowboys. Earlier in the week, Zeke was spotted on a plane back to Dallas… but only for two days. According to reports, Elliott returned home for more clothes and a haircut before heading back down to Mexico. There is still no advancements as far as contract negotiations go and after Jerry Jones’ “Zeke Who?” comments following preseason game vs. the Rams, it appears both sides are playing hard ball. Elliott’s agent, Rocky Arceneaux, said that his client wasn’t amused by Jones’ humor, “I didn’t think it was funny and neither did Zeke – we actually thought it was disrespectful.” So, the holdout drags on...Who will blink first?

Amari Cooper, Byron Jones and Noah Brown are all still on the injury report. Cooper, who was previously diagnosed with a heel bruise turned ligament issue, was held out of practice today. At what point do we start to panic a little? Amari will likely sit out the remaining preseason games but all signs point to Cooper returning for regular season opener. But in some good news, Sean Lee is back!

In other Cowboys Rumors, will Taryn Christion surpass Mike White as the #3 QB? Is there a punter battle brewing between Kasey Redfern or Chris Jones? And why did the Cowboys send a scout to the 49ers vs. Broncos game? Could there be a Cowboys trade?
