Both teams needed a win in a cluttered Eastern Conference playoff picture, but it was the Cleveland Cavaliers who came to play with extra intensity. They jumped out on the Celtics from the jump, building a comfortable 61-36 halftime advantage before cruising the rest of the way.

Cleveland's defense was the story in this one as they absolutely smothered Boston's offense. The Celtics were held to just 35.2 percent shooting from the field, including 25 percent from three-point range, which led them to score just 53 points through the first three quarters.
Cleveland MVP:
LeBron James responded from Sunday's disappointing ending in a big way, scoring 27 points while dishing out five assists in just three quarters of work. Kyrie Irving also contributed 18 points in his return from a left shoulder strain.
Boston MVP:
Brandon Bass was the lone bright spot for the Celtics tonight, scoring 15 points while grabbing five rebounds.
