The Cubs organization played the Brewers organization twice today and shut them out both times. The Cubs didn’t do so well against other organizations.
Iowa Cubs
The Iowa Cubs were drenched by the Omaha Storm Chasers (Royals), 3-2. It was Omaha’s fifth-straight win over the I-Cubs.
Dan Straily started, didn’t pitch poorly and took the loss anyways. Straily gave up three runs on five hits over five innings. He struck out five, walked one and hit one batter.
Three Iowa relievers combined to keep Omaha from getting a hit or a walk the rest of the way, although they did walk a combined six batters.
