Chicago Bears Rumors are heating up as the NFL Draft & Free Agency are just around the corner. The Bears released WR Taylor Gabriel on February 14th to clear up $4.5 million in cap space. There are several free agent wide receivers the Bears could target to replace Gabriel in 2020. Breshad Perriman finally had a breakout season with the Buccaneers as he had over 650 yards and 6 touchdowns. Is he ready for a bigger role? Perriman could line up on the opposite side of Allen Robinson in Chicago. Randall Cobb is one of the top slot WRs on the market after a bounceback season with the Cowboys. The Bears could sign him and move Anthony Miller to the outside. If Chicago wants a versatile WR that can line up inside or outside, Phillip Dorsett could be a good option. Dorsett has great speed and is unlikely to be retained by the Patriots.
Bears’ WR Targets include DeMarcus Robinson as the Chiefs aren’t expected to re-sign him. Robinson has some big play ability, but got buried on the Chiefs roster at times. Could he flourish in a bigger role? If the Chiefs want to take a chance on a veteran WR, how about Paul Richardson? Richardson had a big 2017 season with the Redskins and got paid before the 2018 season. Washington just released him after he’s missed 15 games over the past 2 seasons. Chicago could sign him to a cheap 1-year deal in 2020.
