Legendary Auburn football linebacker Takeo Spikes sent a strong message in support of incumbent starting quarterback Robby Ashford while speaking with Locked On Auburn’s Zac Blackerby — suggesting that the 2022 season’s starter from Week 4 to Week 12 could develop under Hugh Freeze into a QB1-capable option.
“I was surprised and excited to hear Hugh come out and say out of all of the athletes that he’s ever coached, that Robby Ashford was the best athlete that he’s ever seen,” Spikes said (h/t Auburn Daily). “And so with that being said, I had to uncover a little bit on that.
