CLEVELAND — The Wyoming wrestling team has a chance to end its successful season with an exclamation point this week at Quicken Loans Arena, as six Cowboys head to the NCAA Championships, which begin Thursday.
"I remember our first year in the Big 12, we only had three, and it was kind of lonely," said Wyoming head coach Mark Branch, who was recently named the Big 12 coach of the year. "And you start wondering if you made the right decision to change conferences. Because it is a tougher road for us in a lot of ways. Just seeing that improvement and seeing our numbers grow and these guys sharing each other’s success — and not just sharing it, but I think learning from each other and feed off each other and support each other — there’s a reason.
