Wyoming women's swimming and diving is third after first day of MW Championship

The University of Wyoming women's swimming and diving team sits in third place after the opening day of the Mountain West Championship on Wednesday in San Antonio, Texas.

Sophomore diver Karla Contreras paced the Cowgirls with a second-place finish in the one-meter event, with junior CeeJay Harris finishing fourth.

UW's 200 medley relay team of Isobel Ryan, Hannah McLean-Leonard, Maria Harutjunjan and Rachel McKivigan placed fourth while the 800 freestyle relay team of Katelyn Blattner, Talita Te Flan, McKivigan and Kelly Sheldon finished seventh.

San Diego State and Nevada are tied for the lead in the team standings with 189 points apiece, followed by Wyoming with 161.
