Led by Gabriell Gibson's four-over 220, the University of Wyoming women's golf team finished eighth at the Cowgirl Classic on Tuesday in Maricopa, Arizona.
The senior closed the tournament with back-to-back birdies to finish in a tie for 21st.
Trailing Gibson for the Cowgirls were sophomore Erin Sargent (6-over 222), junior Megan Knadler and redshirt freshman Caitlyn Skavdahl (12-over 228) and redshirt sophomore Kaylee Knadler (14-over 230). Playing as an individual, junior Sarah Hankins had a 17-over 233.
Sacramento State won the tourney with a Cowgirl Classic record 10-under 854 and Sofie Babic of Sacramento State took medalist honors with a five-under 211.
