Roberts wins, Cowboys take second at Wyoming Invitational

With eyes fixated on team qualification to the NCAA Championship meet less than three months away, the Wyoming Cowboys cross-country team began its season Friday with its first home meet since 2011. At the Wyoming Invitational at Little America in Cheyenne, the Cowboys showed why they have sights set so high.

Junior transfer Paul Roberts won the race in 15 minutes, 8 seconds and junior Christopher Henry (Laramie) finished fifth in 15:28 to lead the Cowboys to a second-place team finish, ahead of No. 7 Colorado and No. 16 Air Force. Only No. 9 and rival Colorado State bested the Cowboys on Friday.
