Wizards Rumors: Could the Wizards land LeBron James?

In today's Wizards rumors surrounding the beginning of the 2014 NBA free agency period, the Washington Wizards seem to have all the cap space necessary to make a run at either LeBron James - it just doesn't look like it's going to happen at this point.

Assessing the frontrunners for the services of James, SBNation's Mike Prada believes Miami Heat, Houston Rockets, and Chicago Bulls have the best shot.

The Los Angeles Lakers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks, and Los Angeles Clippers are all also deemed to be "in the picture."

However, the Wizards are lumped in with the Phoenix Suns and Charlotte Hornets as teams that have the funds, but not the chance of picking up LeBron on the open market.

So, why not Washington?

"Washington has about $47 million in committed salary, enough to at least make a somewhat competitive offer, if not enough for a LeBron max contract. But the Wizards also have key free agents like Trevor Ariza and Marcin Gortat, and James has given zero indication that he would even consider playing in D.C," writes Prada.

However, never say never in the wild and wacky NBA - even if it is extremely unlikely.
