3 Things We've Learned So Far About The Nationals In 2015

We're just about a week away from the quarter pole of the 2015 MLB season, which means it's a good time to step back and assess what we've seen out of the Washington Nationals this year. Here's 3 Things We've Learned So Far About The Nationals In 2015.

1. The Passion And The Performance Are There For Bryce

Bryce Harper's recent ejection for arguing with an umpire after a sketchy check swing call is emblematic of 2015 Bryce -- laced with pure adrenaline, full-speed ahead. Hitting .303 with 12 HR and 31 RBI so far this year, Harper would hit over 60 jacks and drive in over 150 if he were to keep at this pace for the remainder of the year. He won't (probably), but his hot start -- both temper-wise and from a production standpoint -- is the next step towards his upcoming stratospheric superstardom.

2. Control Inside And Outside The Zone Has Been A Problem

The Washington Nationals are second-to-dead last in the National League with a 1.40 WHIP, with most of the damage being done coming against the team's vaunted starting pitching. The offense is good enough to pick up the slack on most days, but inconsistency of hitting spots both on the corners and dead in the zone will catch up to the Nats down the stretch. It's getting better but we're not all the way there yet.

3. This Is A Resilient Bunch

The Nationals have chugged along at a .750 winning percentage clip after a 7-13 start, riding an electric offense the past two weeks or so above the .500 mark. After dozens of skeptics came out of the woodwork claiming that the Nats weren't as complete of a team as many thought they were before the season, this recent stretch of elite baseball is a nice way to silence the pundits. 162-game seasons are a long haul and then some, and the Nats are built for the grind.
