The 1st place Saints posted their ninth win in 10 outings with a 31-21 victory over Carolina this past week, although the Falcons control their own destiny with four games remaining vs. division foes. Yesterday the news came out that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has signed a five-year contract extension. The new contract would be worth $200 million over the life of the contract, about $40 million annually, that is if owners approve all the bonuses and all the incentives are met. The new deal would run through the 2023 season.
