Four-star quarterback Xavier Gaines (Lake Wells, FL) put the Texas Longhorns in his top five along with Alabama, Auburn, Notre Dame and Tennessee, according to 247sports.
Gaines is ranked as the No. 9 ranked dual-threat quarterback in the 2016 class and is a major target for Texas with previous top target Tristen Wallace committing to Ohio State.
The 6'2", 200-pounder has yet to announce plans on when he will make a decision.
