49ers News: ESPN's Keyshawn Johnson Sends A Message To LB Ahmad Brooks

San Francisco 49ers linebacker Ahmad Brooks' decision to bench himself during Sunday's win against the New York Giants has brought about a fair amount of criticism in its wake.

Even ESPN analyst Keyshawn Johnson, who was a notoriously high-maintenance wide receiver during his time in the NFL, felt the need to weigh in with his own thoughts on the matter.

"You don't quit on your team," Johnson said bluntly on ESPN's Monday Night Football broadcast.

After the game, head coach Jim Harbaugh said that he and Brooks were "working through something" before telling reporters just how much he feels the team needs Brooks in their quest for a Super Bowl title.

Brooks declined to comment further on his actions after the game, but did confirm that he and Harbaugh are "working through something."

Those things, it appears, has something to do with the fact that Brooks was seemingly demoted to a rotation with the return of linebacker Aldon Smith to the team's lineup this past week.

Regardless, Brooks hasn't won over many fans, including Johnson, with his decision to sit in protest on Sunday.
