Five Soccer Stars Who Could Be On The Move This Summer

Football leagues across Europe may be on pause at the moment; however, there is still intense speculation about potential big-money football transfers involving star players and elite clubs with Paul Pogba and Jadon Sancho among those rumored to be moving before the 2020/21 campaign.

Paul Pogba
Paul Pogba rejoined Manchester United in 2016 for a then world-record fee of $116.4m, but the Frenchman’s second spell at Old Trafford has been average at best, and he is now seeking pastures new with a potential transfer to either Real Madrid or Juventus.

The latest reports suggest Juventus may be priced out of bringing Pogba back to the Allianz Stadium for a second spell at the club and that the Bernabeu is a more likely destination. Real are ready to stump up €70m to land the midfielder who has scored 31 times in 143 appearances for United during the last four seasons.

Jadon Sancho
Wonderkid Jadon Sancho is at the top of transfer wish lists for clubs across Europe after taking the Bundesliga by storm since leaving Manchester City for Borussia Dortmund as a 17-year-old.

Sancho has registered 14 goals and 15 assists in 23 games for Dortmund during the 2019/20 season, and his red hot form and incredible talent has prompted speculation that Man United could try to push through an £86m deal this summer. Dortmund values the 20-year-old at £100m.

Timo Werner
RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner is another young forward that could be on the move in the coming weeks. The 24-year-old German has been prolific during his four-year spell with Leipzig, netting 88 goals in 150 top-flight matches and adding a further 11 in 29 appearances for the national side.

Reigning Champions League winners Liverpool are believed to be in pole position to sign Werner after he recently ruled out a switch to another Bundesliga side. A €60m transfer is close to being agreed according to reports, although Liverpool wants more time to make a final decision as they weigh up their options.

Neymar
It wouldn’t be a summer transfer window without the prospect of another big move for Brazilian star Neymar. The world’s most expensive player wants to leave Paris Saint Germain after three years at Le Parc des Princes, but his club is unlikely to recoup the $222m fee paid to Barcelona in 2017.

Barca is the 28-year-old’s most likely destination, and Neymar is said to be happy to accept a 50% cut in his weekly wage to return to the Camp Nou. Real Madrid and Juventus are other possible destinations.

Leroy Sané
Leroy Sane has fallen down the pecking order at Manchester City due to a string of niggling injuries and Pep Guardiola’s preference for other forwards. The German is still valued at £100m and is reported to be a target for Bayern Munich this summer, even though former coach Jupp Heynckes recently claimed the 24-year-old is overrated.
