When the Pirates were scheduled to face the Miami Marlins at 7:05 p.m. Sept. 8, that all but eliminated any chance of the Pitt-Penn State football game being played that same evening.
But now the Pirates have moved aside, setting the stage for a potential Panthers-Nittany Lions matchup under the lights that Saturday night at Heinz Field
The Pirates announced Friday that they’ve moved first pitch that day to the afternoon, and while the kickoff time for Pitt-Penn State won’t be announced until a later date, it’s now possible and perhaps even likely that it will be a prime-time contest.
