“Once in a lifetime” performance for Penn State men’s lacrosse face-off man Gerard Arceri against Johns Hopkins

It truly might have been a once in a lifetime performance as coach Jeff Tambroni described it afterwards.

Face-off man Gerard Arceri has had a better win percentage before. Arceri has also scored goals off of face-offs, and he didn’t do that today.

But he’s also done all that with two real hamstrings. Today he had a “fake hamstring” put together by team trainer Cam Patria taped to the back of his right leg.

On Saturday Arceri could only use one, or one and a half legs. With the fake hamstring wrapped up the back of his leg Arceri could barely jog, he said after the game he was going to play as long as he could “kind of” jog.
