How one lineup change helped spark Penn State softball's offense against Michigan State

Coach Amanda Lehotak was looking for a spark in her team’s offense heading into this weekend’s series with Michigan State.

She found the needed kindling with a simple shift in the batting order, this shift was the move to make Tori Dubois the leadoff hitter for the first time this season.

Penn State’s offense exploded for eight runs on 11 hits in what was an 8-6 victory in the opening game of this series with Michigan State.

Individually, Dubois saw four at-bats; tallying two hits, two runs and one RBI.

The new presence in the lead role of the offense seemed to have a positive effect on the team as a whole, whether it be through the different approaches to at-bats that each player took, the pitches that following hitters saw or even the calmness of the team.
