Notre Dame Football: 3 Burning Questions Following Spring Football

There is plenty to be excited about after the Notre Dame Fighting Irish's spring practice session, but there’s also some concerns that need to be address before the 2015 season gets going just over four months from now. Here’s 3 burning questions we have about Notre Dame football following the spring session.

1. Can Justin Yoon Save ND's Kicking Game?

The Notre Dame kicking game was just awful in 2014, as Kyle Brindza missed on 10 of his 24 field-goal attempts, including two misses which sealed Irish losses. It's now up to freshman kicker Justin Yoon to clear the debris from last year's train wreck and bring some stability to a unit that has been extremely inconsistent during Brian Kelly's tenure as ND head coach.

2. Where's The Defense?

Notre Dame gave up 30 points or more in seven-straight games in 2014 as opposing offenses blasted holes in the defense on a regular basis. Irish starter showed signs of life during spring practices, but there's still a ways to go in upcoming practices before immediate improvement can be predicted.

3. Is Everett Golson The Starter?

Golson is in a full-scale QB competition with Malik Zaire, meaning there's no guarantee that he'll win his job back before September. He's shown improvement in accuracy and decision making this spring, but it's too early to call just how things are going to shake out under center. If Golson returns to his inconsistent ways in upcoming sessions, it will be Zaire's job to lose.
