The Carolina Panthers cruised to an easy 49-15 win over the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC Championship game. The biggest reason for the Panthers' win was their defense, which forced an astounding seven turnovers. We've compiled all seven below, although Cardinals fans probably shouldn't watch them for their own mental health.
1. Carson Palmer Fumble, 12:52 In Second Quarter
The first of the seven came early in the second quarter, with the Panthers already up 17-0. The fumble was forced by DT Kawann Short and recovered by LB Luke Kuechly. This isn't the last time Kuehcly's name appears here.
2. Patrick Peterson Fumble, 4:54 In Second Quarter
The Cardinals had just cut the lead to 17-7 and forced a Carolina punt, when Peterson muffed it. It was recovered by rookie corner Teddy Williams.
3. Carson Palmer Fumble, 1:56 In Second Quarter
After the Panthers scored following Peterson's fumble, the Cardinals coughed it up again on their very next drive. Palmer was sacked by Charles Johnson and the ball was recovered by Tre Boston. It was the first of several turnovers Boston was involved in.
4. Carson Palmer Interception, :56 In Second Quarter
The good news for the Cardinals was the Panthers committed a turnover of their own just two plays later, giving Arizona the ball at the Panthers' 22-yard line down 24-7. The bad news was that Palmer was picked off again the very next play by safety Kurt Coleman.
5. Carson Palmer Interception, 11:48 In Fourth Quarter
The Cardinals held onto the ball the entire third quarter and were down 34-15 before Palmer was picked off once again by Coleman.
6. Carson Palmer Pick-Six, 5:26 In Fourth Quarter
The Panthers scored following the previous Palmer pick and found the end zone once again thanks to Kuechly's pick-six. That gave the Panthers a 49-15 lead.
7. Carson Palmer Interception, 4:38 In 4th Quarter
The outcome of the game was already decided, but that didn't stop Palmer from adding to his turnover totals. He was picked off once again by Boston.
Palmer finished the game by completing 23 of 40 passes for 235 yards, a TD and four picks. He also fumbled twice, making him responsible for six of the team's seven turnovers.
