NFL training camp is in full swing which means football is officially back! Unfortunately, so are injuries. Bengals WR A.J. Green will likely be sidelined for six to eight week due to torn ligaments in his left ankle. He will not participate in Bengals training camp and while not expected to have surgery, Green could miss the first 3 games on the 2019 NFL season according to recent reports. Another player missing out on training camp is Damien Williams. The Kansas City Chiefs’ RB was not held out of camp on Monday, July 29th, as a result of a sore hamstring. Could a lingering injury keep Williams from staring for the Chiefs?

Tennessee Titans’ RB Derrick Henry suffered a lower leg injury at Friday’s practice, landing him in a walking boot. Titans head coach Mike Vrabel said the team is “not worried” about the injury. The same can’t be said for Todd Gurley and the Los Angeles Rams. Gurley is coming off a Super Bowl season plagued with knee issues. The Rams are planning to use the “veteran plan” to limit Gurley’s reps this training camp. What does this mean? Gurley will receive multiple practices off and Rams fans won’t likely see him play in the preseason.
While some players are looking to make a comeback, others are looking to get paid. Michael Thomas is entering the final year of his rookie contract and according to Thomas’ agent, the Saints have been working throughout the offseason to get a new deal done. Thomas is looking to become the first receiver to garner a contract worth $20 million a year. But does he deserve to be the highest paid WR in the NFL?
