Former All-Pro RB Defends Adrian Peterson, Says He'd "Harshly Discipline" His 1-Year-Old Daughter

Reggie Bush might not have done himself (or the NFL) any favors with this one.

On WFAN Radio's "Boomer and Carton" show, the 2008 All-Pro and current Lions RB addressed the Adrian Peterson situation, saying he received similar treatment as a child and would have no problem dishing it out to his 1-year-old daughter.

"I got what we call whoopings," Bush told the hosts. “I definitely will try to — will obviously not leave bruises or anything like that on her. But I definitely will discipline her harshly depending on what the situation is.” Bush said he'd consider using a switch like Peterson did, but later took it back and said he'd spank her instead.

Late Tuesday night, Peterson was placed on the NFL's exempt/commissioner's permission list, enabling him to handle his legal issues while staying away from the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings RB is still earning his full salary, which pays him $700,000 each week despite his absence from the team.
