Yankees Trade Rumors: New York Working To Acquire Craig Kimbrel

The New York Yankees made a deal to bring outfielder Dustin Ackley to town yesterday, but they aren't done trying to improve their roster.

According to ESPN's Buster Olney, the Yankees are pursuing Padres closer Craig Kimbrel:

Kimbrel has had a lot of success this season, recording 30 saves in 42 appearances with a 2.46 ERA. The All-Star was one of many high-priced offseason acquisitions the Padres made this winter, but with their struggles this season, San Diego is looking to unload his four year, $42 million contract.

Andrew Miller has served as the Yankees closer this season, recording 23 saves with a 1.80 ERA in 35 innings.

New York currently has a six game lead in the AL East.
