Patriots Cut Center Bryan Stork After Trade With Redskins Is Voided

The wild ride for center Bryan Stork and the New England Patriots has come to an end. The team has cut him after his trade to the Redskins fell apart after Stork failed his physical.

This was the original plan for the Patriots, but the Redskins expressed interest and a trade was agreed to. Stork reportedly contemplated retirement before deciding to join the Redskins. Of course, that was all for not since Stork failed his physical.

The Redskins were going to give up a conditional 7th round pick. Stork was originally a 2014 fourth round pick out of Florida State.

Stork was the Patriots' starting center in 2014, but had fallen out of favor. David Andrews had passed him up on the depth chart. Stork was also kicked out of practice earlier this week for fighting with a Bears player last week. At times, he's had issues controlling his emotions.

As for the Redskins, this was supposed to fill a major hole. Kory Lichtensteiger was listed as the starter, but he's better as a backup.
