Warriors Weekly: Golden State Showing Dominance Ahead Of Showdown With Thunder

The Golden State Warriors are rolling in the new year and are playing their best basketball of late, coming off a dominant 35-point victory over the Cavs. However, they are entering a harder part of their schedule with a road trip looming. More on the week that was and more inside our Warriors Weekly update:

Last Week:
Golden State got a short week with a lot of rest, playing just two games over the past week as they prepare for their road trip - and they won both of those games by at least 20 points.

The week started on Thursday with a 127-107 win over the Detroit Pistons, led by Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson all scoring 20 points in the same game for the 13th time this season. The Warriors then enjoyed three days off before facing the Cleveland Cavaliers for the final time this season - and Golden State certainly made a statement.

Led by a huge start, the Warriors held a 78-49 lead at halftime and cruised to the 126-91 win. Durant (21), Curry (20) and Thompson (26) again all scored 20 points as they shot over 50 percent from the field as a team, while holding Cleveland to just 35.2 percent shooting.

What's Up Next:
Golden State finishes their homestand on Wednesday with a showdown against the Oklahoma City Thunder, marking the second time Durant will be squaring off against his former team. The Warriors then hit the road to face the Houston Rockets on Friday, Orlando Magic on Sunday and Miami Heat on Monday.
