Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott has had his motion for an injunction denied by a three-judge panel from the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Elliott is suspended. The court granted an expedited appeal of the larger case.

NFL spokesman Joe Lockhart says the suspension of #Cowboys Zeke Elliott will immediately kick back in if/when his stay is lifted. In essence, if it is lifted even a minute before the next game, he's suspended.

Today's hearing lasted only 35 minutes without the judges issuing a decision, though that came not even an hour after the hearing ended.
Elliott can still file an en banc appeal and could petition the Supreme Court, but it's highly unlikely that this decision gets overturned.

Elliott will now miss games against the Falcons, Eagles, Chargers, Redskins, Giants, and Raiders. He will return for Dallas' Chrismas Eve game against the Seahawks.
Dallas has a plan for using both backups Alfred Morris and Darren McFadden in the backfield without Elliott, who has rushed for 783 yards and seven touchdowns on 191 carries so far this season while also catching 19 passes for 210 yards and two more scores.
