The latest Dallas Cowboys rumors are headlined around Ezekiel Elliott, Amari Cooper, Jaylon Smith & George Iloka. Amari Cooper is dealing with a bruised heel that has kept him from being a full participant during the Cowboys training camp this offseason. The exact diagnosis of the injury has not been clarified, but it has been rumored to be “plantar fasciitis” or an “intrinsic muscle strain”. It doesn’t sound like Cooper or the Cowboys are expecting Amari Cooper’s injury to keep him from playing in week 1, but it is definitely something to keep an eye on. In other Cowboys news, Ezekiel Elliott’s holdout continues & Jerry Jones might have made matters worse when he jokingly made a comment saying “Zeke who?” Are the Cowboys going to sign Ezekiel Elliott to a long-term contract extension before the 2019 NFL regular season begins? Only time will tell. It came as a bit of a surprise when Jaylon Smith signed a long-term contract extension with the Dallas Cowboys before Dak Prescott, Amari Cooper or Ezekiel Elliott. Smith reached a 5-yr, $64MM agreement to remain in Dallas for the distant future. Despite some Cowboys rumors, Jaylon Smith’s deal should not affect Dallas’ ability to re-sign any of the triplets because Smith still has two years left on his current deal.
