The Cleveland Browns are 5-3 and very much a contender in a crowded AFC North title race. As the Browns continue to improve and become a force in the NFL, naturally they will be spotlighted during more national showcase games such as the oft-maligned Thursday Night Football.

“These are circumstances that we’re going to have to learn to deal with, playing with different schedules,” head coach Mike Pettine said in advance of the team's fourth Thursday night game in as many years, per Tony Grossi of ESPNCleveland.com. “If you want to be a good football team, it’s something you have to get used to. So this will be a good test of our mental and physical toughness.”

Pettine scheduled one full practice from 7:15pm to 9:15pm on Thursday night to get his team acclimated to playing at full contact during the late hours.

That kind of forethought and preparation could very well do wonders in one of the more intriguing (and crucial) battles for Ohio in recent memory when the Browns travel to Cincinnati on Thursday to face the Bengals.
