Chicago Cubs Score and Recap (5/7/24): Cubs 3, Padres 2 – Busch Whacks Walk Off Homer

The Cubs and the Padres played a low-scoring pitching battle that came down to the final at-bat Tuesday. At one point, it looked as if Chicago’s offensive woes were going to waste another quality start but they were able to scratch out a couple of late runs to earn a dramatic walk-off victory.

Shu014dta Imanaga continued his brilliant start to the season with another dominant performance, keeping San Diego off the board through the first four frames. Cody Bellinger made his return to the lineup in style with a solo home run off of Randy Vásquez in the 4th to give the Cubs a 1-0 advantage.
