Bulls News: Pau Gasol not ready to call younger brother Marc the better player

Chicago Bulls big man Pau Gasol and Memphis Grizzlies center Marc Gasol have earned their reputation has perhaps the most formidable duo of brothers to ever play in the NBA - arguably surpassing Bernard & Albert King and Dominique & Gerald Wilkins for that honor.

However, the veteran NBA stars aren't satisfied, with big brother Pau still unwilling to cede "best in the family" honors to Marc.

“Ah, no, no, no,” Pau said earlier this week with a smile, via Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald. “That’s an argument that people can bring up, but I’m playing pretty well myself and I’m happy with where I’m at.

“But at some point, maybe he will . . . when I stop playing, maybe he will continue to play. Or I’ll decline more, or not. We’ll see.”

While Marc is having a borderline MVP season so far in Tennessee, Pau doesn't feel the need to compare apples to oranges.

“We are different,” Pau said. “We’re both great players, and that’s something we’re proud of. We’re very competitive, as well, and we always try to push each other and make each other better.”
